Environmental Assessment Open House for Benning Road and Bridges Improvements @ Friendship Collegiate Academy School Cafeteria
Nov 15 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) invite the community to an Open House for the proposed Benning Road and Bridges Transportation Improvements Project. The proposed project would provide safety improvements, extend H/Benning streetcar service, and enhance the roadway, pedestrian and bicycle facilities to accommodate each mode along Benning Road between Oklahoma Avenue NE and the Benning Road Metrorail Station.

An Environmental Assessment (EA) has been prepared to evaluate the effects of the proposed project on the human and natural environment in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA) and Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 (NHPA). A Draft EA was released for a 30-day public comment period on May 4, 2016 and a public hearing was held on May 19, 2016. The purpose of this open house is to provide an update on the status of the Benning Road and Bridges Transportation Improvements EA.

For more information on the project, please contact DDOT Project Manager Megan Cogburn ([email protected], 202-524-8538), or visit the project website at www.benningproject.com.
